Dubai: New Dh25 event parking fee takes effect
New tariffs aim to reduce congestion near key venues

Dubai's public parking operator, Parkin PJSC, has introduced new event-based parking charges, effective today, Monday, February 17, 2025.
The revised structure imposes a Dh25 per hour tariff in designated areas near major event venues, notably the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
This initiative aims to alleviate congestion during large-scale conferences, exhibitions, and concerts.
'Grand Event Zone'
The area surrounding DWTC has been designated as a 'Grand Event Zone,' where the Dh25 per hour rate is enforced exclusively during scheduled events. To mitigate parking demand, Parkin encourages visitors to opt for public transport when attending events at these venues.
This development follows a recent adjustment in parking fees across other parts of Dubai. On February 1, Parkin increased tariffs in Zone F – which encompasses Barsha Heights, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Internet City – and extended paid parking hours from 8am to 10pm.
Looking ahead, Parkin plans to introduce 'premium parking' spaces by the end of March 2025. These high-demand spots will be strategically located near transport hubs, central business districts, and major shopping destinations, offering motorists more accessible parking options. Details regarding tariffs for premium parking will be made available on Parkin's digital platforms.
Additionally, a variable parking tariff system is set to launch in late March, adjusting rates based on peak and off-peak hours:
Peak Hours (8am - 10am & 4pm - 8pm):
- Dh6 per hour for premium parking spaces
- Dh4 per hour for all other public parking areas
Off-Peak Hours (10am - 4pm & 8pm - 10pm):
- No changes to existing tariffs
Free Parking:
- Overnight (10pm - 8am)
- All day on Sundays
These measures align with Dubai's broader congestion management strategy, which encompasses variable Salik toll gate fees and revised public parking charges. The new rates coincide with major events such as Gulfood, scheduled to commence at DWTC on February 19.
Motorists planning to attend events in Dubai are advised to consult Parkin's website or mobile app for real-time updates on parking fees and designated event zones.
